I’ve been busy weaving wool samples for Project 6. I’m using the right wool, just not in the right colours! I have blue wool left over from Project 4 so I’m making use of that as I still have to dye the yarn from this project. Today I’m dyeing Herdwick black for the background to my rug. Next week I’ll be dyeing the Cheviot in browns and greens.
Here is a picture of one of the samples I’ve woven so far. It’s been on a 40C wash with a lot of agitation to get it to full (felt) as the gentler wash had no effect at all! I’m happy with the result and will be weaving yet more samples of a different weave at a slightly looser sett this afternoon.
