As part of the latest project for my course I visited Powys Castle, an impressive National Trust property near Welshpool. The castle gardens are rightly famous – beautiful herbaceous borders on a very steep terrace.
Fortunately for my purposes it also has a lot of mature trees, many of which have lovely textured bark, which is what I was after.
